SCOTLAND-- Star Trek's fantasy tractor beams are close to becoming real life space tools.

Scientists from Scotland and the Czech Republic's Institute of Scientific Instruments have created a mini tractor beam.

It only works on a microscopic level right now.

NASA has it's own tractor beam program in the works. It is hoping to create something that could drag space rovers behind shuttles.
