Flu UpdateCHARLOTTE,NC--The CDC is official calling the flu outbreak an epidemic, with North Carolina as one of the 47 states reporting widespread cases, 17 people have already died in our state. South Carolina has reported 22 deaths because of the flu. There are concerns of a national vaccine shortage but Charlotte is in good shape for now. CMC, Presbyterian Hospital and Mecklenburg Health Department all have a good supply of flu vaccines as of now.
