CHARLOTTE, NC- GNOC, TDTM and MOS. If you don't know what those codes mean, you're not alone. They're all part of teen “sexting”. GNOC stands for “Get naked on cam”, TDTM is “Talk dirty to me”, and MOS is short for “Mom over shoulder”. "This is scary. This is very scary," said Tracy Forst, a high school teacher and mother of four. Forst says teachers confiscate students' phones when they violate school rules, but some of the codes are new to her. "This is what they're doing when they have their hands underneath their desks or when they're walking through the halls," said Forst. Family counselor Leslie Petruk of Stepping Stones in Charlotte says inappropriate pictures are the most common among her teen clients. "There's a lot of denial. A lot of parents think 'my child won't do that. I don't really need to check their phone. But, it happens so much more than you think," said Petruk. 30 percent more of her teen patients are sexting than three years ago. "Insecurity. Kids that are already struggling with their self-esteem or feeling depressed may be more keen or more likely to send something," said Petruk. The community is getting involved with the teen sexting. Both the YMCA and local police departments have hosted informational meetings for parents to warn them about the dangers of sexting and what the law says about it. Sending naked photos in North Carolina is considered child pornography if the person in the picture is under 18. Lawmakers in South Carolina have already given initial approval of a teen anti- sexting bill. Teen sexting is already illegal in states like Florida, Ohio and Rhode Island.
