CHESTER COUNTY, S.C.-- A metal fabrication company plans to expand its operations with the construction of a new plant in Chester County.

Outokumpu Stainless Bar will invest $18 million building a 60,000 square foot plant in the Colonel's Point Industrial Park. Twenty new jobs are expected as a result of this new facility.

“We look forward to expanding our operations in Chester County. The new facility represents a major step for our company and will allow us to expand our market presence,” said Lou Kern, senior vice president and general manager of Outokumpu Stainless Bar.

The new facility will allow the company to expand capacity to better serve our distributors who supply stainless bar for transportation, aerospace and oil and gas customers.

Construction is expected to begin in the next few months with a fall opening.
