4 Arrested for Breaking Into House with AK-47

LENOIR, N.C. -- The Lenoir Police Department arrested for teenagers for breaking into a home and possessing an assault rifle.

Dexton Banner, 17, Latif Banner, 19, Maurice Brown, 16, and Ashley Bost, 18, have a long list of misdemeanor and felony charges against them for breaking into a 72-year old man's home and taking personal items.

The four teens kicked in the door of the residence just after midnight Monday and displayed an AK-47. The homeowner retrieved a firearm from his house and fired his weapon in their direction when they entered.

The teens fled without injury and got into a waiting vehicle owned and operated by Ashley Bost. Two of the suspects concealed their faces with ski masks. The homeowner's security video recording helped to identify the offenders.

Police told WCCB that physical evidence and interviews show this was a planned robbery. Before the home invasion, the four teens entered a vehicle on the property and stole a men's wallet and clothing items from the car.

Their charges include first degree burglary, robbery with a dangerous weapon, kidnapping, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit burglary, breaking and entering to a motor vehicle, larceny after breaking and entering and assault by pointing a gun.
               
The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office and the Longview Police Department assisted with the investigation and arrests.
