$60,000 Car Stolen From Dealership ShowroomMOORESVILLE, NC - A 2013 limited edition Camaro stolen from right inside the Randy Marion dealership in Mooresville; workers didn't even know the car was missing until eight hours later. In the movies stealing a car from inside a showroom looks simple, in reality it can actually happen. Randy Marion Dealership General Manager, Randy Marion Jr., says when he arrived to work on Tuesday morning the 2013 Camaro was gone, "When we walked in the car wasn't here and we could tell they just took it and backed it straight out the big doors." Detectives say the suspects broke a lock to get in Monday night. Then drove off with a $60,000 red Camaro. Marion says it was about more than just the value, "You've got a $70,000 Corvette right beside it, so it wasn't about the money, it's about the car." Surveillance video caught the suspects pulling up to the dealership in a black SUV and then driving off in a brand new Camaro. The State Bureau of Investigation was on the scene searching for any possible leads. But even with "on star" tracking technology, you can't always find what your looking for. Marion says the thieves had a motive, "They knew exactly what they were looking for, they came in and got it." The dealership is offering a $5,000 dollar reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction. Marion says he hopes they find whoever did this, " Police have not released a description of the suspects. If you have any information about the red Camaro, call Iredell County Crime Stoppers. |
