Accident Involving Lynx Light Rail and Vehicle Send Several To Hospital

CHARLOTTE, NC -- Several people were rushed to an area hospital after a Lynx light rail train collided with a vehicle on Remount Road. It happened on Tuesday night just after 9 p.m. Authorities say, the vehicle was stopped at the tracks when it was rear ended by another vehicle, pushing it into the path of the train. Medic confirms there were a total of seven transports to both Presbyterian Hospital and Carolinas Medical Center. There is no word yet if alcohol was a factor. According to the Charlotte Area Transit System passengers on board will be bridged by bus at the New Burn and East/West Stations.
