American Idol is Looking at Adding Kanye and Nicki Minaj as Judges LOS ANGELES, C.A.--American Idol is looking to add a couple of pop-star heavyweights to the judges table. There are reports that Nicki Minaj and Kanye West are in the running. Nicki may have already signed a deal. Kanye's apparently still on the fence over a paycheck. His people are asking for at least as much as Mariah Carey's making, which is about $18 million a year.
