Sharman Odom Arrested For The Murder Of School Counselor Maggie Daniels
NEWTON, N.C. - Sharman Howard Odom,34, was arrested for the murder of school counselor Maggie Daniels Saturday afternoon.
Police say they found Odom at a relative's house in Winston Salem. Odom was taken into the Newton Police Department where he will remain in custody.
Daniels was found dead in her apartment on June 27. Odom lived in the same apartment complex as Daniels and his apartment was previously searched by law enforcement.
Odom is between 5'8' - 5'10" and weighs approx. 209 lbs.
Police say interviews, corroborating evidence and physical evidence gathered during the investigation and analyzed by the NC Crime Lab helped them identify Odom as the murder suspect.
Odom previously lived in Charlotte and was arrested for second-degree-rape, robbery and assault by strangulation in August of 2012 and was placed under a $135,000 secured bond.
Odom served three months in jail before being released in October 2012.
Odom is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
