SALISBURY, N.C. -- A judge set bond for a woman accused of killing a 62-year-old Kannapolis woman. Marlene Johnson appeared in court for a bond hearing on Wednesday. Johnson is accused of murdering Shirley Pierce in her home on July 23.

District Court Judge Kevin Eddinger set Johnson's bond at $450,000. If she posts bond, Johnson would be required to wear an electronic monitoring device.

In court documents filed by Johnson, she stated she believed Shirley Pierce had an affair with her husband, Ervin Johnson. Search warrants revealed Pierce had a restraining order taken out against Marlene Johnson.
