Boy Scouts of America Prohibits Obese Members from Attending Convention

WEST VIRGINIA--The Boy Scouts of America struck up controversy again after organization leaders refused to allow obese members to attend its Jamboree Convention this week in West Virginia.

Scouts with a body mass index higher than 39 could not attend the Jamboree. Organizers said this was because this year's convention had more rigorous activies than last year's.

The Boy Scouts announced the health requirement in 2011 and said the boys had enough time to lose the weight.
