CMPD: Cracking Down On Sweepstakes ParlorsCHARLOTTE,NC--Sweepstakes parlors in Charlotte are battling new regulations as of January 3rd. CMPD are hand delivering letters to warn parlor owners they're running out of time to remove certain machines to be in compliance. The new law restricts how the machines display customer winnings on the screen. The machines became illegal on January 3rd and police say sweepstakes parlors have found a loophole and are tweaking their software.
