CMPD Cracking Down On Sweepstakes Parlors
CHARLOTTE,NC--Police are cracking down on sweepstakes parlors around Charlotte after conducting numerous raids already this week.
Police say they conducted a criminal investigation on Broadway Sweepstakes on 8170 South Tryon Street Thursday.
During the investigation authorities say they found 83 electronic and slot machines that were in violation of North Carolina gaming laws, detectives say they seized the machines along with $7,400 in cash.
Queens Gold Sweepstakes was another parlor that was investigated by authorities, located on South Tryon detectives seized 24 electronic and slot machines along with $15,000 in cash and arrested an employee.
Authorities say they are continuing their investigations on these parlors as well as others in the Charlotte area.
