CHARLOTTE, N.C.--The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools police chief has been placed on paid administrative leave.

The district is conducting an internal investigation involving Bud Cesena.  A spokesperson said they could not give anymore details because it is a personnel matter.

Deputy Chief Randy Hagler told WCCB Charlotte that he is now the acting chief.

Cesena has been working with the school system since 2006.
