CMS Teacher Charged for Sexual Activity With Student

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A CMS teacher is in jail for her involvement in sexual activity with a student.

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit have charged Kristina Ngum, 43, with one count of sexual activity with a student by a teacher.  Kristina Ngum is employed by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools as a teacher at Myers Park High School. According to the Myers Park High School Website, Ngum teaches EC General Curriculum.

Detectives began their investigation on Friday, after the victim was arrested on an unrelated drug charge.  Detectives determined that the sexual activity happened at a location off campus and did not occur on school property. 

Detectives obtained a warrant against Ngum and she turned herself in at the Mecklenburg County Sherriff’s Office on Saturday, where she remains in custody. 

Ngum was previously arrested in 2011 on larceny charges.
