CATAWBA COUNTY, NC- Flooded roadways, huge fallen trees, homes saturated with water; remnants of Saturday's severe weather is nearly everywhere you look.

On Sunday, Damage Assessment Crews scoped out nearly 40% of the hardest hit areas. Crews found 18 structures with major damage. Eleven are residential, 7 are businesses.

Meanwhile, 19 roads and bridges remain closed due to bad flooding or damage. Crews say they will continue to survey the damage as water levels recede in the coming days.

County officials are urging residents to stay away from flooded areas even if the water looks like it's receding. They say all the water can weaken the stability of the roads and bridges which can cause them to collapse.
