CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Charlotte African American Festival is set to kick off this weekend. A full day of food, fun and history is in store at Independence High School. Amad Shakur and Alexandria Hawkings visit Rising to preview the event that's preserving the contributions of African Americans.
