Charlotte Bank Robbery Suspect Captured in Georgia

HINES, G.A.-- A man wanted for robbing a BB&T Bank on Albermarle Road was arrested Tuesday in Hines, Georgia.

Thomas Anthony Hammond, 46, was wanted for committing the common law robbery of the BB&T Bank on Albemarle Road in August and for the attempted common law robbery of the same bank in September.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Safe Streets Task Force and Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) worked with members of the Armed Robbery Unit and the FBI, along with the US Marshall’s Southeast Regional Task Force to capture Hammond.
