Charlotte Group Fights Childhood ObesityCHARLOTTE,NC--Hype men got the crowd dancing at a community wellness event in uptown Charlotte. The Genesis Project held it's second "Active Family Day" at the First Ward Rec Center. Kids and adults learned 15 line dances and Charlotte's senior cheerleaders "The Silver Foxes" showed off their moves too. The project puts parents in charge of their kids by sending home, pedometers, food logs and stop watches to keep their kids healthy at home. Organizers say they want to meet monthly to track the community's success and say real change has to start at home.
