CHARLOTTE, N.C.--Prosecutors began laying out their case in the trial of a Charlotte man charged with killing his 23-month-old son. 

As WCCB's Marvin Beach reports, jurors saw a taped interview of Andre Hampton demonstrating just how severely he beat the child. 

Hampton faces the death penalty if he is convicted.
