UPDATE: Authorities located the body of Juan Alberdi, of Huntersville, just before 2:30 p.m. Sunday, about a quarter mile north of where he was swimming yesterday. Alberdi drowned while swimming in Wilson Creek.

COLLETTSVILLE, N.C. -- Caldwell County authorities say a 10-year old girl from Charlotte drowned in Wilson Creek. A 48-year old Huntersville man went missing.

Family members tell officials that Juan Alberdi, 48, and Delilah Lovett, 10, were swept away while swimming in an area known as the "bathtub" on Wilson Creek Saturday evening.

Alberdi and his two children and a friend and her two children, came from the Charlotte area to swim in Wilson’s Creek around 6 p.m. Saturday.

Kayakers flagged down a search crew when they found the body of Delilah in the water.

Law enforcement has shut down a five mile stretch of Wilson Creek Road from Adako Road north to Craig Creek Road while crews search by land and water for Alberdi.
