Civil Rights Activist Calling for Nonviolence Following George Zimmerman's Acquittal

ORLANDO, F.L.--A popular civil rights activist stressed nonviolence yesterday at Orlando's NAACP National Convention in response to George Zimmerman's acquittal in the shooting of Trayvon Martin.

Martin Luther King III said he believed the best way to make Florida eliminate its Stand Your Ground law would be to boycott the state's orange juice instead of engage in violent behavior.

"The true way generally when people don't understand your plight is when you decide to exercise your spending power elsewhere," he said.
