Daimler Trucks To Lay Off Over 1,000 Workers In Charlotte Area
GASTON COUNTY, N.C.--Daimler Trucks North America says they will lay off 1,200 workers in the Charlotte area.
The Freightliner plant in Cleveland is expected to see the largest number of layoffs. The company says a little more than 700 people could lose their jobs.
Daimler says the cuts are temporary layoffs so some of the employees could be rehired.
The Freightliner plant in Mt. Holly is expected to lay off more than 400 workers. All the layoffs will go into effect on April 1st.
