December Unemployment Up To 9.2%Raleigh,NC--North Carolina's unemployment climbed to 9.2% in December from 9.1% in November. According to the Division of Employment Security the number of unemployed in N.C. increased by 6,997 over the month of December, but decreased by 45,380 over the year. Although N.C. numbers are still high, they are down from the beginning of 2012 with 10.4% unemployment. National numbers stayed the same at 7.8%. The next unemployment update is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013 when the county unemployment rates for December 2012 will be released according to (Division of Employment Security)
