Deputy and Suspect Shot in Cabarrus County Standoff

MIDLAND, N.C.--Police say a deputy was shot during a standoff with a man in Midland.  Investigators say the standoff started late Tuesday night and did not end until 6 a.m. Wednesday morning. 

Cops did not say why they responded to the house on Sleepy Hollow Road but did say a man allegedly fired shots at deputies as they arrived.  One deputy was hit but is expected to make a full recovery. 

Police say the suspect was also injured.  No other details were available at this time.
