CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A man shot outside his home Friday night died Saturday morning at the hospital.

CMPD responded to a disturbance call in which shots had been fired around 9:14 p.m. Friday night. When they arrived at the scene at the 6200 block of Old Meadow Road, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim, identified as 28-year-old Terrance Mingo, was transported to CMC Main with life threatening injuries. Sadly, Mingo passed away just before 7 a.m. Saturday.

Detectives determined that an altercation occurred between Mingo and an unknown suspect at another location. The suspect then confronted Mingo on Old Meadow Road. Police are still looking for the suspect, who fled in a gray Chevrolet Impala.

CMPD is canvassing the neighborhood, which residents say is usually pretty quiet.
