Exclusive: Out of State Arrest Warrant for Bianca Tanner's Boyfriend
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - WCCB obtained the active warrant for Angelo Grayson Smith, Junior's arrest in Arkansas. It's for domestic battery and stems from a July 2012 incident. Smith was living in Arkansas; he and his then girlfriend got into a fight.
The warrant suggests that Smith threw the woman into a dresser, dragged her into a bathroom and slammed her head into a wall. Smith then allegedly threw her onto the bed and smothered her with his hand. Smith's accused of then trying to force her into his vehicle, but she got away. She told investigators she ran to a nearby apartment and the two women inside let her in. The three of them forced the door closed on Smith and locked him out.
One of the women in that apartment tells WCCB, "It doesn't surprise me to hear he's accused of abusing another woman, because he was incredibly aggressive that night." She describes him as muscular, tall and intimidating.
Smith's current girlfriend, Bianca Tanner, has been missing for almost two weeks. There's been no activity on her cell phone or bank accounts. Tanner's toddler son told detectives Smith attacked her. Police have classified the case as a homicide investigation. We went back to the couple's north Charlotte apartment Thursday. Smith's red Mustang that is part of the investigation was parked out front, but no one came to the door.
Tanner's sister says Smith hasn't helped search for her. Police say he deleted info off his phone before letting detectives see it. If you have any information about Bianca Tanner, call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600. You could get a $5,000 reward.
