Facebook Pictures Lead To Arrest Of Florida ManST. LUCIE COUNTY, F.L.--Police say a man is facing charges after allowing his children to play with a manatee. Investigators say they were tipped off about the incident after Ryan Waterman posted pictures with a manatee on his Facebook page. It is illegal to injure, harm, capture or attempt to capture a manatee in Florida. Wildlife officials say the manatee in the pictures was young and the separation from the manatee and it's mother could cause severe consequences. Waterman faces a $500 fine ad a maximum of 60 days in jail. |
