BEIJING-A new beach craze in Beijing is taking over! Facekini's are a new trend popping up in China.

They are masks that completely cover a swimmer's head.  The mask only shows the person's eyes, nose and mouth.

Government officials say they are worried people will start using the masks in robberies.

One online store sold 542 masks in 30 days.  Some Beijing residents say they wear the masks because pale skin is an indicator of a higher social status.

One resident said having a tan means you work outside in fields, so it associates you with being from a low-income family.
