NEWTON, NC  - More than 20 family members and friends searched throughout the weekend and into Monday night for 70-year-old Ken Mohler, who disappeared while at work Thursday night in Newton.

"We're going to keep looking, just believing that he's going to be found," said Kenny Mohler, son of missing Ken Mohler. "We're walking around, turning over every stick and rock that we can to see if they are any signs of anything."

Mohler was last seen reparing a broken waterline at Gregory Wood Products Thursday night. His family says he texted his wife at 7:30pm to let her know he would be home in an hour, but he never returned.

Captain Joel Fish with the Catawba County Sheriff's Office calls the case suspicious.

"We've got his keys, his work cell phone laying in the dirt, eyeglasses are laying in the truck, his personal cell phone inside the truck. His two pay checks he got Thursday evening were also laying in the truck," said Fish.

While investigators don't think Mohler was the victim of a robbery, they haven't ruled out a medical issue.

"He's going to be found. We're just praying that he's alive. That's why we're still out here looking," said Mohlwe.
