Firefighters, Golfers Play to Raise Money for Victims

MINT HILL, N.C.-- Close to 100 golfers teed off Monday to honor firefighters who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks on September 11.

The Firefighter Steven Coakley Foundation held its 10th annual golf tournament. Eight firefighters from New York and ten from Charlotte hit the course at the Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation.

The foundation displayed a piece of steel from the World Trade Center that's being made into a traveling memorial.

The foundation hopes to use proceeds from the tournament to make another trip north to help Hurricane Sandy victims. Three teams of people were sent last year.
