Former Cherryville Officer Pleads Guilty to Multiple ChargesCHERRYVILLE, N.C.-- A former reserve officer with the Cherryville Police Department pleaded guilty to multiple charges in connection with the corruption investigation into the department. Frankie Dellinger, 40, pleaded guilty in federal court Thursday to one count of conspiracy to transport/receive stolen property, one count of conspiracy to extort under color of official right, one count of extortion under color of official right, and one count of money laundering conspiracy. Dellinger faces up to 65 years in prison and more than $1 million in fines for all the counts he pleaded to. Five other men were charged in the same investigation. According to officials, Dellinger will not be sentenced until later in the year. |
