Former Flying Biscuit Employee Pleads Guilty to Double Murder
CHARLOTTE, N.C.--A former Flying Biscuit employee pleaded guilty to killing his co-worker and her unborn child.
Mark Cox was arrested a few days after the January 14, 2012 killing that happened inside the restaurant.
Investigators say Cox was trying to rob the restaurant's manager, Danielle Watson.
Police say he stabbed her several times and left her body near a dumpster behind Stonecrest Shopping Center.
Watson was pregnant at the time of her death. Cox is the first person in North Carolina to be prosecuted for killing an unborn child.
He was sentenced to two life sentences without the chance of parole.
