Friend: Woman Fought with Boyfriend Before Disappearance
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Bianca Tanner hasn't been seen since early Sunday morning. Her boyfriend, Angelo Smith, reported her missing to CMPD just after 12:30 pm. The couple lives in an apartment on Druid Circle in north Charlotte. No one was home when we knocked on the door Tuesday afternoon.
A friend of Tanner's spoke to WCCB on the condition of anonymity. The friend says, "Supposedly her and the boyfriend had a disagreement." And, "Yes, he's been known to be very possessive, jealous of her and, a lot of people, like, his friends from college, have given bad reviews of him."
31-year-old Tanner apparently walked away from the apartment with her cell phone and a debit card. She has a three-year-old with an ex-husband who lives out of town. WCCB spoke to the ex. When we asked him if he believed Tanner was in danger, he said he'd have to call us back. CMPD declines to confirm whether it believes Tanner is in danger.
Her neighbors want answers. Deborah Marvle tells WCCB, "If she's missing, I just wish someone would find her so we can get to the bottom (of it). I don't want a killer roaming my neighborhood."
Tanner's friends want her back, and have this message for her: "Just come home. We love you, you know, reach out to anybody that you can. All of her friends, everybody's here for her support."
Tanner was a second grade teacher in Greensboro. She moved here for a job with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. CMS confirms she was an applicant. Call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600 if you can help find Bianca Tanner.
