GASTON COUNTY,NC--Gaston County sheriff's deputies are now better armed to save lives.

Thanks to a $35,000 grant, they now have 28 automated external defibrillators in their patrol cars to help cardiac arrest patients.

A study suggests that when law enforcement uses AED before an ambulance arrives , chances of survival increases by 26%.
