CHARLOTTE, N.C.--While the future of the Hornets in Charlotte appears to be picture perfect for some fans. Others say its return has a little bit of a sting. "The day that we met it was all about the hornets, and it's been nothing but since," said Ballantyne resident Myers McKenzie. McKenzie's boyfriend started a Facebook group to bring the Hornets back to Charlotte. "It's a genuine cause that we feel would help this team and this town," said John Morgan.

Morgan's group now has nearly 7 thousand fans, and momentum. Yahoo! Sports is reporting that the New Orleans Hornets will become the Pelicans as early as next year. Charlotte Bobcats Owner Michael Jordan has said he'd be interested. "We would definitely entertain the opportunity. That's as much as we can say right now. We've heard the community ask the question, and we would listen," is what he told the Charlotte Observer last month.  "As a child of the eighties and nineties, Mike's never let me down in the past.  I don't expect him to let me down today, tomorrow, whenever this thing happens," said Morgan

Experts say it could cost up to 10 million dollars to change the logo, the uniform, and everything about the team. University City Resident Scotty Kent and Bring Back The Buzz group leader said,
"By bringing the name back and by merchandise sales I think instantly you'd make that ten million back."

During the Revolutionary War, the Queen City was called a "Hornet's Nest" of rebellion. The center of the newest bee-hive is in Myers McKenzie's home. "I have to sit quietly otherwise I'll want to choke him sometimes," McKenzie said.

Buzz about booting the Bobcats taking its toll on one relationship so others may soon benefit.

It could take two years for a re-branding.
