I-77 Bridge To Be Named After Rock Hill PatriotRock Hill, SC--A Rock Hill resident is being honored for being a patriot. On Sept. 11 anniversary's Late World War II Vet. Leonard Farrington could have been seen by many waiving an American Flag on Sutton Road bridge over I-77. After Farrington's death in January, 2012 motion to rename the bridge was in the works. Legislation will soon vote to rename the bridge “Patriot Leonard A. Farrington 9/11 Memorial Bridge.” “He would be so thrilled,” wife Betty Farrington said. “He never wanted notoriety. He just wanted to wave his flag. He wanted people to remember what this country is really about. So that’s exactly what he did.”
