I-85 SB Lanes Back Open After Man Jumps Off Bridge

CHARLOTTE, N.C. --All southbound lanes on I-85 have reopened Wednesday afternoon after a man jumped to his death near Freedom Drive.

The incident happened just after noon. Highway Patrol says an unidentified man jumped off the Tuckaseegee Road bridge and was hit by a car.

The deceased man appears to be in his mid-20's. Troopers found a credit card with a name on it in the man's pocket but can not confirm if it is his.

All lanes on I-85 SB were shut down for more than an hour as troopers investigated.
