Jerry Richardson's Son, Jon Richardson, Dies at 53

CHARLOTTE, N.C.--The former stadium president of the Carolina Panthers has died, according to team officials.

Jon Richardson was 53-years-old.  He is the oldest son of Panther's owner Jerry Richardson. 

Reports claim that Jon had been battling cancer for years.

A spokesperson with the Panthers issued the following statement, "We are very saddened to learn of the passing of Jon Richardson. He was a great friend of many people throughtout the organization and played an integral role in the history of the Panthers in the building of Bank of America Stadium. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Richardson family."
