Jon Wilson Goes One on One with Former Panthers Wide Receiver Steve Smith
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Steve Smith joined Wilson today on WCCB News Rising to talk about the upcoming Lace Up Son 5K for the Steve Smith Family Foundation. But after the show was over, Wilson had a rare opportunity to talk candidly one on one with Smith about the recent changes in his life as he transitions from his position as Wide Receiver with the Carolina Panthers to his new team the Baltimore Ravens.
Smith and Wilson talked about the reaction of his fans and their support when he left the Panthers. He says he is grateful to all of his fans and feels it is an honor to have their support.
Smith says that Charlotte is his home and he and his family will to continue to call it home. He wants to continue to grow the Steve Smith Family Foundation that he and his wife Angie created.
Wilson also got Smith to talk a little soccer. Leave it to Wilson to get his soccer team into the conversation.
The Steve Smith Family Foundation raises funds to help with the emotional, physical and spiritual needs of the community. The foundation has partnered with Safe Alliance, YMCA of Greater Charlotte and Samaritan's Feet.
