Judge Orders Woman to Act Like a Lady
ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C.--A judge ordered a North Carolina woman to act like a lady after she appeared in court for drinking in public.
Police said the woman had stolen beer and had gotten drunk in Roanoke Rapids. When they tried to arrest her, officers say she fought them and shouted profanities.
The woman then appeared in court where a judge instructed her to write a two-page essay titled "How a Lady Should Behave in Public."
The judge also punished her by not permitting her to drink during her probation.
