LA Lakers' Owner Dies at 80

LOS ANGELES, CA-- Jerry Buss, the owner of the Los Angeles Lakers, passed away on Monday at the age of 80.


According to his assistant, Buss died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He had reportedly been hospitalized for cancer, but his immediate cause of death was kidney failure.


Buss owned the Lakers for 32 years. During this time, the team made the NBA finals 16 times through 2011 and won 10 titles between 1980 and 2010.
