Man Arrested for Sex Crime Against MinorCHARLOTTE, NC -- Detectives with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Special Victims Division have arrested Aran G. Cox for his involvement in a case with a juvenile victim. Mr. Cox was charged with solicitation of a child by computer or other electronic device to commit an unlawful sex act resulting in appearance at a meeting location, 3rd degree sexual exploitation of a minor, and disseminating obscene material to a minor under 16. Detectives say Cox met the juvenile victim on Facebook and arranged to meet the juvenile victim at an area middle school. CMPD Youth Crimes Detectives, Providence Division Officers, and Charlotte-Mecklenburg School Law Enforcement collaborated to arrest the suspect upon his arrival at the school. Once Mr. Cox arrived at the school he was arrested without incident. Mr. Cox was transported to CMPD headquarters where he was then interviewed by Youth Crimes Detectives and then transported to the Mecklenburg County Intake Center.
