Man Arrested in NW Charlotte HomicideCHARLOTTE, NC -- Police have arrested a man in connection to a fatal shooting in northwest Charlotte. According to authorities, Ralph Lewis Gettys was arrested on Sterling Haven Road early Sunday morning. Detectives say they responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call with injuries around 6 a.m. on B Avenue on Saturday. Upon arrival, officers located Raymona Abraham suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased minutes later. Detectives believe that the victim and suspect possibly knew one another and have no reason to believe this was a random act of violence. Gettys has been charged with Murder, Assault, and Possession of Firearm by Felon. |
