A quiet neighborhood turned upside down. West Charlotte neighbor says, "I'm just in shock, total shock, that this would happen around here. Police say a man found his parents dead inside this home on Swift Arrow Lane.

Several people close to the family tell us they are Ida and Clyde Valentine. We've confirmed it's the same Clyde Valentine charged in June with three counts of indecent liberties with a child. He was a teacher at Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology. The charges he faced did not involve a student.

Neighbors say Ida was living in the home alone, and had been estranged from Clyde for a while. They also say they haven't noticed much activity around the house the past month or so, they did notice that the house had recently been remodeled.

One neighbor told us they saw Clyde repainting the house a few months back, but say there may have been issues going on between the couple. CMPD Captain Gregg Collins says, "We did check the residence here, and there has not been a recent problem area, and there hasn't been a call involving police in the last several months."

CMPD officers, and K9 units have been in and out of the house and have also been talking to neighbors trying to get as much information as they can, to help with the investigation.
