CHARLOTTE, NC -- William Parker, 23, pled guilty to first-degree rape Friday morning at the Mecklenburg County Courthouse. Parker will spend up to 20 years in jail. According to police, the victim, who was a first grader disclosed the sexual abuse to a friend.

During the investigation, Parker admitted to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Detectives that he had engaged in sex acts with the child. In addition to serving 20 to 24 ¾ years in prison, upon his release Parker will be required to register as a sex offender and be on satellite-based monitoring for the rest of his life.
