Man Rescued After Being Trapped In Manhole For 12 HoursGASTONIA, N.C.--Emergency workers were able to free a man that was stuck in a manhole for more than 12 hours. Officials say the man fell in the manhole on East Long Street in Gastonia after he jumped over a concrete barrier. The manhole was uncovered but police say it was surrounded by barriers. Authorities say someone heard the man calling for help around 8 a.m. Thursday morning. The man was taken to Gaston Memorial Hospital to be treated for minor injuries. |
