Meeting Over Tega Cay Sewage Spills And Utilities Inc. Negligence
TEGA CAY, SC--A meeting over repeated sewage spills in Tega Cay left mixed feelings.
Tega Cay city council members had a discussion with South Carolina health officials at a Monday night meeting involving five recent sewage overflows.
Two weeks ago, 100,000 gallons of sewage and feces spilled out of a water treatment plant and flowed into Lake Wylie.
The incident, described as appalling by the Mayor, has Tega Cay residents angered by the lack of maintenance.
Utilities Inc. says they are promising to fix the system, and the company is reportedly planning a public meeting in June.
