Mom Arrested for Child Neglect After Toddler Found Wandering Parking Lot Barefoot
FORT MILL, S.C.-- Deputies with the York County Sheriff's Office arrested a woman who left her toddler and infant home alone Saturday night.
Colleen Louise Pellettiere, 26, was arrested early Sunday morning at her apartment complex and charged with two counts of unlawful neglect of a child/helpless person.
According to deputies, a neighbor saw a young boy shoeless walking on the sidewalk at the Palmetto Place Apartment complex in Fort Mill. When the neighbor approached the toddler, he brought her to his apartment where she found an infant in a crib, with no adults around.
Pellettiere arrived home hours later wearing a halter top and tight pants, with a black stamp on her hand resembling those used for admittance into a bar or club. She did not say where she was or why she left her children home alone.
Deputies also saw an open alcohol container in a cup holder in her backseat that was in plain view, along with high heeled shoes and a shirt.
The children were placed with a foster family due to the fact all immediate maternal and paternal family reside in North Carolina. The children's father has a pending case with the North Carolina Children's Protective Services and is not allowed unsupervised visitation with his kids.
Pellettiere is being held at the York County Detention Center under a $10,000 bond.
