Mom Steals Almost 10K From Daughter's Girl Scout TroopDOUGLASVILLE, G.A.-- A Georgia mother was arrested on Friday for allegedly embezzling nearly $10,000 from her daughter's Girl Scout troop. 49-year-old Darlene Jo Lewis, the treasurer and co-leader for Douglasville's Girl Scout Troop 798, stole quite a bit of dough. Investigators say she used the money on personal expenses- everything from gas to a dating service for seniors. The troop reportedly had to disband due to the loss of money stolen by Lewis. She has been charged with felony theft and is out of jail on a $9,800 bond. |
